Russia's exports of agricultural products could rise to $55.2 bln by 2030 - Agroexport

UFA. March 26 (Interfax) - Russia's exports of agricultural products could increase to $55.2 billion by 2030 from $43.5 billion in 2023, the Agriculture Ministry's Agroexport center said.

"We have set the new task of ramping up exports to $55.2 billion by 2030," Agroexport head Dmitry Krasnov said on Tuesday during a plenary meeting at the agricultural forum in Ufa.

Krasnov also said that Indonesia, which exported a similar volume of agricultural products in 2022, placed 10th in terms of the leading exporters.

Russia ranked 17th in 2022, having exported agricultural goods worth almost $42 billion. "This is a great achievement, because our exports have almost doubled in the last 4-5 years. And Russia over the last five years has had the highest growth rates among exporters," Krasnov said.

He recalled that Russia ranks first in global markets for wheat and frozen fish, and second in sunflower oil. "Most likely, we will be in first place soon," he said. In terms of rapeseed oil supplies, Russia is also second, and in terms of barley - in third place.

As Krasnov said, in 2023, exports of agricultural goods to friendly countries increased by 10%. "And if back in 2021 the share of friendly countries in our exports was about 73%, it is now 87%. We have increased exports not only to countries with which we traditionally cooperate, but also started deliveries, for example, to Latin America," he said, clarifying that deliveries to Mexico have tripled, exports to Brazil have increased, and that Russian agricultural goods have appeared in Chile and Peru.

As reported, in his address to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin set the task of increasing exports of agro-industrial products by 1.5 times by 2030 relative to 2021.
