Bus traffic resumes at Russian-Polish border - Russian Transport Ministry

KALININGRAD. March 25 (Interfax) - The normal operation of the Mamonovo-2 - Grzechotki international checkpoint on the border with Poland in the Kaliningrad region has been resumed, the Russian Transport Ministry said on its Telegram channel.

"The traffic of passenger buses with Russian and foreign license plates between Russia and Poland has resumed after difficulties associated with the strike of Polish farmers. As noted by experts, the passage is currently carried out routinely in both directions. There is no traffic congestion," the statement said.

Since March 20, traffic across the adjacent checkpoints, Mamonovo-2 (Russia) - Grzechotki (Poland), was obstructed. Forced restrictions were in effect for several days. This checkpoint is the most advanced and largest on the border. Farmers planned to block traffic until April 20.

Last year, Poland banned trucks and cars with Russian license plates from entering the country.

Since then, only vehicles with foreign license plates and passenger buses with Russian and foreign license plates can travel from the Kaliningrad region to Poland and in the opposite direction.

Polish farmers blocked traffic at the Mamonovo-2 - Grzechotki international road checkpoint from the side of Kaliningrad in the morning of March 20.

As of now, there are only two road checkpoints, Mamonovo-2 - Grzechotki and Bagrationovsk - Bezledy, operating on the Russian-Polish border in the region. The latter was not blocked by farmers.
