South Ossetia to hold parliamentary election on June 9, 2024

TSKHINVAL. March 25 (Interfax) - South Ossetia's President Alan Gagloyev signed a decree on Monday setting a parliamentary election in the country for June 9, 2024.

Parliamentary elections in South Ossetia have used a mixed majority and proportional electoral system since 2019, whereby 17 of the 34 parliamentarians are elected based on party lists and the other 17 are elected in single-seat districts.
