Polish protesters unblock truck traffic at Ustyluh-Zosin border crossing with Ukraine

MOSCOW. March 25 (Interfax) - Polish farmers ended their protest at the Ustyluh-Zosin crossing on Poland's border with Ukraine on March 21 and unblocked truck traffic, Ukrainian media reported, citing Ukraine's State Border Service.

"Truck traffic at the Ustyluh-Zosin checkpoint is unblocked! According to information from Polish colleagues, the protesters ended their national rally in front of the Zosin checkpoint at 9:10 p.m. [on March 21]," the service said on its Telegram channel.

Buses, cars and trucks are being let through the checkpoint in both directions as usual, the service said.

As of March 11, protesters were blocking roads to five checkpoints on the border with Ukraine, the Border Service reported earlier. It did not provide updated information.

Europe's top diplomat, Josep Borrell called last week for Ukraine's borders with the European Union to be unblocked for both military and civilian purposes. The Polish authorities expect to resolve the problem of Polish farmers blocking the border with Ukraine in a few weeks.

Polish farmers began a national strike in February, blocking checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. They demanded, foremost, that Poland block entry to Ukrainian agricultural products and withdraw from the EU agreement to combat harmful emissions and make the agriculture sector "climate neutral" by 2050.
