Kyrgyzstan, Rosatom mulling construction of wind, small nuclear power plants - dep minister

SOCHI. March 25 (Interfax) - Kyrgyzstan is preparing to sign an agreement with the Rosatom state corporation on the construction of a small nuclear power plant, Kyrgyz Deputy Energy Minister Talaibek Baygaziev said at Atomexpo-2024.

"We are looking into an investment agreement with Novawind on wind generation," he said in addition.

Novawind, the wind power division of Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom, is thinking of building a wind farm with capacity of 100 MW in Kyrgyzstan. Rosatom also planned to draft a pre-feasibility study for the construction of a small capacity NPP in Kyrgyzstan.
