EU summit vows support for Moldova and Georgia

BRUSSELS. March 22 (Interfax) - European Union leaders adopted conclusions on Ukraine following the first day of their summit in Brussels, which also contain the European Council's pledge to continue supporting candidate countries Moldova and Georgia on their path towards membership of the EU.

"The European Union will continue to provide all relevant support to the Republic of Moldova", including in order "to strengthen the country's resilience, security and stability," the statement circulated on Thursday evening said.

The EU also pledged to continue its support for Georgia "in strengthening its resilience and addressing the challenges" which the EU believes "undermine Georgia's territorial integrity."
