Ukraine exports 8,000 tonnes of sugar to African countries in March

MOSCOW. March 21 (Interfax) - Ukraine has largely increased sugar exports to African countries, in particular, to Cameroon, Libya and Guinea since early March, Ukrainian First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotsky said.

"Ukraine is actively developing a new destination for sugar exports. Almost 8,000 tonnes of the product were delivered to three countries, namely, to Cameroon, Libya and Guinea in March," Ukrainian media quoted him as saying according to the ministry's press service.

The situation on the domestic sugar market is stable, Vysotsky said. The produced amount is enough to meet the domestic consumption and export demands.
