En+ Group could begin constructing 1 GW wind farm in Far East at end of 2025-start of 2026 - CEO

MOSCOW. March 21 (Interfax) - En+ Group could begin constructing a wind farm with capacity of 1 GW in Russia's Far East at the end of 2025, CEO Mikhail Khardikov said at a press conference on the results of 2023.

"We have established a design company. The key parameters are under development. We are discussing technical solutions. We plan to complete all this by the end of 2024. I hope that we begin construction at the end of 2025-beginning of 2026," Khardikov said.

"We expect the project to be implemented as part of the capacity supply agreement (CSA) program for renewable energy sources, and we are waiting for the relative government decisions," the CEO said.

En+ Group, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) and Amur Region have signed an agreement to cooperate on the construction of the wind farm at the Eastern Economic Forum last autumn. En+ has also signed an agreement with the China Energy Investment Corporation.

En+ Group has said it estimates capital investment at 100 billion rubles, raising some of it with the involvement of Chinese banks, for what will be Russia's biggest wind farm with capacity of 1,058 GW in the Amur region.

The FEDC has said the prospects for launching the production of wind turbines in the Amur region were being assessed. Equipment capable of generating 300-350 MW annually would be produced.
