Progress in implementing EU-Ukraine Association Agreement at 88% in 2023 - authorities

MOSCOW. March 21 (Interfax) - The progress in fulling the obligations under the European Union-Ukraine Association Agreement in 2023 was 88%, the report on the agreement's implementation in 2023 said.

The report was forwarded to the EU during the 9th meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council in Brussels on March 20, Ukrainian media said, citing the press service for Ukraine's deputy prime minister and minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

"We will continue to work consistently to deepen sectoral integration with the EU. The overall progress in implementing the agreement increased 5% in 2023. In 2023, Ukraine fulfilled 86% of the tasks under the agreement," director general of the government's Office for Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Alexander Ilkov said.

The greatest progress - of more than 90% - was achieved in areas such as intellectual property, statistics and information sharing, humanitarian policy, justice, freedom, security, human rights, education and youth, political dialogue, national security and defense.

As for the overall progress in the 2014-2023 period, the government fulfilled 75% of all measures, the Verkhovna Rada 64%, and other government agencies 62%.
