India, Russia to continue building strategic partnership - Modi, following call with Putin

NEW DELHI. March 20 (Interfax) - India and Russia will continue to follow the path of strategic cooperation, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said after a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Spoke with President Putin and congratulated him on his re-election as the President of the Russian Federation," Modi said on X.

"We agreed to work together to further deepen and expand India-Russia special and privileged strategic partnership in the years ahead," he said.

The Kremlin said earlier on Wednesday that Modi congratulated Putin on confidently winning the presidential election and wished the Russian people wellbeing and prosperity.
