Ukrainian PM Shmygal welcomes EU's extension of economic preferences for Kiev

MOSCOW. March 20 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal has welcomed Brussels's decision to extend economic preferences for Kiev.

"Starting our visit to Brussels with good news. The European Parliament and the European Council have agreed provisionally to extend imports of Ukrainian goods without duties and quotas until June 2025," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying on his social account.

This decision will enable Ukraine to maintain its export flows, support its manufacturers, and solidify the foundation for the country's further integration into the EU's common market, he said.

"We expect the European Parliament to approve the agreements as early as April," he said.
