Beltamozhservice, Eurasian Agrologistics to cooperate on Eurasian Agroexpress project

MINSK. March 20 (Interfax) - Beltamozhservice, the largest logistics operator in Belarus, and independent non-profit organization Eurasian Agrologistics, a joint business project between logistics companies of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries to develop accelerated containerized railway shipments of agricultural goods, have signed a memorandum on cooperation, the Belarusian state company reported.

Under the memorandum, which was signed at the TransRussia 2024 international transport and logistics exhibition in Moscow, the parties will forge a strategic partnership and long-term cooperation for the joint development of the Eurasian Agroexpress integrated project for accelerated railway and multimodal shipments of food products.

"Cooperation involves attracting volumes of agricultural products and assisting in the organization of shipments of agricultural freight and food for export and incoming imports in expedited container and other freight trains, as well as by automobile, railway and mixed transport," the company said.

The companies plan to cooperate in the area of foreign trade, transport and logistics on the routes of the East-West and North-South international transport corridors, develop cooperation in the area of customs processing of international freight and develop joint trade and logistics projects of Belarus and Russia with countries in the EAEU, CIS, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS and other friendly countries, the company said.

The Eurasian Agroexpress project is intended to develop exports of agricultural products from members of the EAEU to China, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and other countries in Southeast and Central Asia by harnessing integration on shipping routes.
