Rosseti ramps up capacity 20% at one of Kuzbass' largest substations, invests 1.6 bln rubles

KEMEROVO. March 18 (Interfax) - Siberia Main Power Transmission Network, a branch of PJSC Rosseti , has completed a key stage in the reconstruction of the 500-kV Novo-Anzherskaya substation, which is one of the main power centers in the Kemerovo Region, Rosseti said.

"Electrical engineers have launched the operation of a new power autotransformer, which has rendered it possible to ramp up the facility's capacity by nearly 20% to 1,752 MVA. This will provide conditions for increasing throughput capacity of the Kuzbass section of the Trans-Siberian Railway and will increase the reliability of power supplies to consumers in the north of the region. The cost of the work has been 1.6 billion rubles," the power grid holding said.

As noted, in addition to the Trans-Siberian Railway, the Novo-Anzherskaya substation also supplies electricity to households and industrial consumers in the northern regions of Kuzbass, including the Yaya Oil Refinery and coal mining enterprises. The substation also provides connections to the power systems in the Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, and Tomsk regions, respectively, as well as in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Modernization of Novo-Anzherskaya is planned for completion in 2024 after comprehensive upgrading of the emergency automation.
