Russian deputy FM, Iranian ambassador meet to discuss Middle East

MOSCOW. March 15 (Interfax) - Russian Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov has met with Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on its website.

"During the discussion, there was an extensive exchange of views on pressing Middle East issues with a focus on the state of affairs in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Bogdanov shared information about the outcomes of the consultative meeting of the main Palestinian political forces that took place in Moscow on February 29 - March 1 of this year," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website on Friday.

At the meeting, the sides also confirmed Moscow and Tehran's interest in further coordinating principled approaches to settling regional crises, including within the framework of BRICS, it said.
