Ukrainian maritime corridor begins round-the-clock operation - Kiev

MOSCOW. March 15 (Interfax) - Ukraine's unilateral maritime corridor began round-the-clock operation last week, Ukrainian Deputy Restoration Minister Yury Vaskov said.

"The corridor still has [a potential] for at least 20% enlargement," Ukrainian media quoted Vaskov as telling a roundtable in Kiev.

The corridor hit a record in February by transporting 8 million tonnes of exported and imported goods, 60% to 65% of them were agricultural products and the rest were ore, metal and imported fertilizers, Vaskov said.

Currently, the corridor operates at the February pace because of the bad weather seen last week, he said.

More than 1,000 vessels have travelled through the maritime corridor, and almost 31 million tonnes of cargo have been transported to date, Vaskov said.
