UN hopes for conclusion of Azerbaijani-Armenian peace agreement

BAKU. March 15 (Interfax) - The United Nations hopes for the conclusion of an Azerbaijani-Armenian peace agreement, President of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly Dennis Francis said.

The UN General Assembly highly appreciates the resumption of negotiations between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Munich meeting, followed by a meeting of the two foreign ministers, Francis said at the 11th Global Baku Forum on Friday.

The UN believes in and awaits additional steps towards peace, security and progress, he said.

According to Azerbaijani media, the UN General Assembly hopes that Azerbaijan and Armenia will sign a peace agreement consistent with the norms and principles of international law.
