Ukrposhta, DHL Global Match announce partnership in transportation to N. America, Oceania
MOSCOW. March 14 (Interfax) - Ukrainian national postal service Ukrposhta and UK's DHL Global Match, a specialized division of the world's largest postal and logistics concern DHL Deutsche Post, have announced partnership in transport services and transportation of postal items, Ukrainian media reported, citing Ukrposhta's press service on Thursday.
"The partnership with DHL Global Match is part of the company's strategy to expand export routes," Ukrposhta CEO Igor Smelyansky said.
The cooperation between the postal companies spans across such countries as the United States, Canada, Australia, and in the future Asian countries with further expansion plans, the statement said.
Ukrposhta believes that such cooperation will provide Ukrainian entrepreneurs with greater confidence in stable delivery times, as DHL Global Match operates both its own fleet of DHL Aviation aircraft and uses partner airlines to execute orders.
In January 2024, 90% of Ukrposhta's shipments from any of its 27,000 service outlets arrived in the U.S. within seven to 14 days, Smelyansky said.
UK's DHL Global Match Limited provides international mail consolidation and distribution services to over 170 destinations worldwide using road and air transportation, applying the resources, expertise and buying power of Deutsche Post DHL Group.
Ukrposhta provides delivery of postal items from Ukraine to 190 member countries of the Universal Postal Union. In 2023, the company said it shipped over 3.5 million kilograms of postal items from Ukrainian exporters, helping them organize the sale of goods abroad.
