Russian Railways forecasts passenger traffic to grow over 8% by 2030

MOSCOW. March 13 (Interfax) - JSC Russian Railways forecasts passenger traffic to grow over 8% by 2030 from the level in 2023, RZD CEO Oleg Belozerov said during the so-called government hour in the State Duma.

Belozerov said that forecast estimates for annual growth in passenger traffic indicate that traffic should rise by 100 million travelers within six years.

"The goal is that the railway passenger service system should provide services and transportation for least 1.3 billion passengers per year by 2030," Belozerov said.

As reported, the Russian Railways network boosted passenger transportation 5.4% to 1.2 billion travelers in 2023, thus growth dynamics could exceed 8% by 2030.
