U.S. seeking to allocate $52 mln in FY 2025 to assist Armenia - State Dept

WASHINGTON. March 12 (Interfax) - The United States is requesting $52 million as part of the budget for the 2025 fiscal year in order to develop Armenia's economy and democracy, U.S. State Department representative Tracy Carson said on Monday.

Carson said that the budget envisages allocating $52 million in terms of Armenia, when answering a journalist's question about how much the United States has been asking Congress for the economic and democratic sustainability of Armenia.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in February met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Munich, saying that Armenia was a valuable partner for the United States.

Blinken said the U.S. values Armenia's commitment to a stable world, and that the U.S. and Armenia could strengthen ties between the countries in all areas.
