Ukraine, Turkey sign agreement on data exchange between customs services

MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax) - An intergovernmental agreement establishing a system of electronic exchange of preliminary information on goods and vehicles moved between the parties has been signed as part of a meeting between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul.

"Under the document, the information will be shared between the Ukrainian State Customs Service and the Turkish Commerce Ministry. The agreement will set up a system of electronic exchange of preliminary information, through which a predetermined set of data will be exchanged in electronic form," Ukrainian media quoted Zelensky's press office as saying.

The information received by the two parties' customs authorities will help speed up the movement of goods and vehicles across the borders of both countries, as well as counter customs offenses, it said.
