Ukrainian govt endorses draft loan agreement to raise 6 bln euros

MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has approved the drafts of a memorandum and a loan agreement under the Ukraine Facility program, which are expected to attract up to 4.5 billion euros in March and up to 1.5 billion euros in April 2024, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"The government endorses two documents that will enable Ukraine to receive 6 billion euros in March and April this year," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying at a government meeting last Friday.

This involves the approval of the drafts of a memorandum and a loan agreement with the European Union, which are expected to allocate up to 4.5 billion euros in March and up to 1.5 billion euros in April 2024, Shmygal said.

As reported, European Commission Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis said on March 8 that Ukraine would receive the first disbursement amounting to 4.5 billion euros under the Ukraine Facility program in March 2024, while the second disbursement of 1.5 billion euros would be received in April.
