Polish opposition announces mass protest in support of farmers in May

MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax) - Chairman of the Polish opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party Jaroslaw Kaczynski has said at a meeting with his supporters that the party will stage a protest, dubbed the Great March, in Warsaw on May 18, Ukrainian media reported, citing Polsat.

Kaczynski said that the purpose of the demonstration would be to persuade the parliamentary majority into adopting the Sejm resolution on the Green Agreement and imposing a Ukrainian grain embargo.

"If this resolution is not adopted by that time, it will also become a slogan of this march," he said.

Kaczynski noted that the demonstration would take place even if by that date, the Green Deal is abolished and an embargo on Ukrainian agricultural products is imposed.
