Angara-A5M rocket's maiden launch from Vostochny due in April - Roscosmos head
MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax) - The maiden launch of the upgraded Angara-A5M launch vehicle is due to take place from Vostochny Cosmodrome in April, Roscosmos head Yury Borisov said.
"We are finalizing the work on the Angara-A5M launch site at Vostochny and hope to carry out the inaugural launch in the first ten days of April. This is a major event for the country, as it will strengthen ground-based space infrastructure," Borisov said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"You know that we already have a launch site in Plesetsk, and this is a backup site, which is crucial for us," Borisov said.
