Ukraine increases production of rolled products and steel over 50% in Jan-Feb

MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax) - Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises increased production of general rolled products 52.5% in January-February of this year to 900,000 tonnes versus 590,000 tonnes in the same period in 2023, Ukrainian media reported, citing information from the Ukrmetallurgprom industry association.

Steel production increased 52% over the first two months of 2024 to 1.076 million tonnes from 708,000 tonnes, while cast iron production rose 42.5% to 1.05 million tonnes from 737,000 tonnes.

As reported, Ukrainian rolled steel production increased 0.4% YoY in 2023 to 5.372 million tonnes, while steel production decreased 0.6% to 6.228 million tonnes, and cast iron fell 6.1%, to 6.003 million tonnes.
