Inflation in Ukraine down to 0.3% in Feb, 4.3% in annual terms - State Statistics Service

MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax) - The rise in consumer prices in Ukraine in February 2024 slowed down to 0.3% from 0.4% in January, 0.7% in December and 0.5% in November, Ukrainian media outlets said with a reference to the State Statistics Service.

According to the State Statistics Service, it was higher in February 2023, 0.7%, therefore, inflation in annual terms decreased to 4.3% in February 2024 from 4.7% in January and 5.1% in December and November.

Core inflation remained at January's level of 0.4% from zero in December and 0.3% in November, it said. It slowed to 4.5% in annual terms in February from 4.6% in January in light of core inflation being 0.5% in February 2023.

As reported, inflation in Ukraine slowed to 5.1% in 2023 after rising to 26.6% in 2022 from 10% in 2021

The National Bank of Ukraine improved its inflation forecast for 2024 from 9.5% to 8.6%. According to its estimates, it would be 5% at the end of the first quarter, but then would start to rise to 6.6% in the second quarter and 8.8% in the third one.

In early November 2023, the government improved its 2024 inflation forecast from 10.8% to 9.7%.
