Russia's surplus consolidated budget in January was 498 bln rubles in January - treasury department

MOSCOW. March 7 (Interfax) - Russia's consolidated budget was executed at a surplus of 498.1 billion rubles in January 2024 according to preliminary estimates as per materials on the website of the Federal Treasury.

The consolidated budget was executed at a deficit of nearly 1.37 trillion rubles in January 2023 for comparison.

Consolidated budget revenues in January totaled nearly 4.28 trillion rubles, expenses at nearly 3.781 trillion rubles.

Russia's federal budget deficit totaled 124 billion rubles January. The Finance Ministry previously preliminary estimated the January deficit at 308 billion rubles. The adjustment in the indicator occurred mainly owing to a downward revision of January budget expenditures to nearly 2.521 trillion rubles from 2.704 trillion rubles according to the preliminary estimate of the Finance Ministry.

Federal budget revenues totaled nearly 2.397 trillion rubles in January according to the Treasury.

The consolidated budgets of Russia's constituent entities were executed at a surplus of 25.9 billion rubles in January, with regional budget revenues of nearly 1.037 trillion rubles and expenses of 1.011 trillion rubles.

The budgets of government extra-budgetary funds were executed at a surplus of 557.3 billion rubles in January. The funds' income totaled nearly 1.619 trillion rubles, expenses were nearly 1.011 trillion rubles.

The budgets of territorial state extra-budgetary funds for the period were executed at a surplus of 38.9 billion rubles, with revenues of 207.6 billion rubles and expenses of 168.7 billion rubles.
