Putin in meeting with Grossi: We are ready to ensure safety at any point related to nuclear energy

BOCHAROV RUCHEI. March 6 (Interfax) - Russia is now ready to ensure safety at any point related to nuclear energy, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with International Atomic Energy Agency head Rafael Grossi.

"I know you have especially sensitive, important issues on the agenda of our meeting today. And we, of course, are ready to discuss and do everything to ensure safety at any point where we are, one way or another, related to nuclear energy," Putin said at a meeting with Grossi and Rosatom head Alexei Likhachev.

Russia continues working with the IAEA on many tracks, the president said.

"We remain among the unconditional leaders in this sphere in the world, we don't only operate, but we actively develop nuclear energy and we consider it an environmentally clean type of energy, we are doing everything to boost the safety of nuclear facilities," Putin said, adding that Russia builds plans using new principles.

Russia is ready to share the results of its work with all interested partners, he said.

"We are doing a lot of work in this sense on the international scene, we are implementing numerous projects in many countries of the world with your assistance and support," Putin said, adding that IAEA support is important as it is important to ensure safety and observance of standards in nuclear energy worldwide.

Russia is ready for further work on all these tracks, Putin said.

"We are thankful to you for your steps to strengthen our joint work, and we are undoubtedly ready to discuss any issues that you consider relevant," he said.
