Ukrgazvydobuvannya commissions another high-yield gas well

MOSCOW. March 6 (Interfax) - JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya (UGV) has commissioned its fourth high-yield gas well of the year with a daily flow of around 400,000 cubic meters, Ukrainian media reported, quoting the Naftogaz of Ukraine press service.

It said that thanks to the efficiency of Ukrburgaz specialists, the well was completed in 105 days, which is 30% faster than the project deadline. A record for daily meters drilled drilling by one team was set - it drilled 905 meters in 24 hours.

Specialists from the Naftogaz group's Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Natural Gases (UkrNIIgaz) correctly assessed the ageing field's residual potential, successfully identified the well location and proved the viability of drilling in this zone.

UGV commissioned 86 new wells, 24 of them with an initial daily flow rate of more than 100,000 cubic meters, in 2023. It launched a new exploration well with daily gas flow of 250,000 cubic meters per day at the beginning of January and another two new wells with combined daily gas flow of 550,000 cubic meters per day in February.

Saleable gas production fell 3% to 12.5 billion cubic meters in 2022. UGV produced 13.224 bcm of saleable gas in 2023, up 679 mcm from 2022.

Naftogaz owns 100% of UGV.
