Zaporozhstal doubles steel roll output more in 2M
MOSCOW. March 4 (Interfax) - The Zaporozhstal steelworks doubled steel roll output year-on-year in January-February 2024 to 395,300 tonnes, Ukrainian media reported, quoting company information.
The plant produced 471,110 tonnes of crude steel and 212,300 tonnes of pig iron, up 2.3-fold and 1.8-fold, respectively.
It produced 248,800 tonnes of pig iron, 235,400 tonnes of crude steel and 198,500 tonnes of roll in February alone.
Zaporozhstal steelworks raised steel roll output 60% in 2023 to 2.055 million tonnes. It produced 2.467 million tonnes of crude steel and 2.719 million tonnes of pig iron, up 70% and 35.3%, respectively. Average capacity utilization was 70% in 2023.
Zaporozhstal, one of Ukraine's biggest steel works, produces hot- and cold-rolled steel coils, sheet, strip and roll-formed sections.
