Sales of passenger cars, LCVs in Russia surge 81.9% YoY to 113,579 vehicles in February

MOSCOW. March 4 (Interfax) - Sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia surged 81.9% year-on-year to 113,579 vehicles in February 2024, the Industry and Ministry Trade said in a press release, citing data from JSC Passport Industrial Consulting, which is a joint venture between the Autostat analytical agency and the JSC Electronic Passport manufacturer's certificate of origin operator.

Monthly market growth in these segments in February totaled 30.5%.

The Ministry provides market data specifically for February with monthly dynamics in its publication. Interfax calculated the market dynamics in the segments for February by using data from the corresponding publication of the Industry and Trade Ministry for January 2024.

A total of 200,629 passenger cars and LCVs were sold in Russia in January-February 2024, am increase of 71.8% year-on-year.
