Armenians tend to be opposed to withdrawal from CSTO, EAEU in exchange for easier EU visa terms - poll

YEREVAN. March 4 (Interfax) - The share of Armenians opposed to their country's withdrawal from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in exchange for easier visa terms with the European Union is larger than the number of those who would support this step, according to a public opinion poll conducted by Gallup International Association's office in Armenia

Asked what they believed Armenia should do if the EU made its withdrawal from the CSTO and the EAEU a precondition for more liberal visa terms, 32.9% of the respondents said this would be absolutely unacceptable to them, Aram Navasardyan, head of Gallup International Association's office in Armenia, said at a press conference.

"Another 15.9% responded that this would be rather unacceptable to them, 23.5% absolutely acceptable, and 19% rather acceptable, while 8.6% were undecided," Navasardyan said.
