Poland in unofficial talks on agrifood exports with EU - deputy FM

MOSCOW. March 4 (Interfax) - Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Andrzej Szejna has confirmed that Warsaw is conducting unofficial negotiations with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on exempting Poland from some provisions of the European Green Deal, Ukrainian media reported with reference to Onet Wiadomosci.

Szejna insisted that the exemption would apply to "everything possible, including both the Green Deal and the inflow of goods that could cause permanent disruptions on the market of one or most of the countries."

"If we manage to agree upon Poland's demands in the EU, just as we've successfully agreed upon the EU financing, they will become the EU's common position. I'll refer to Prime Minister [Donald] Tusk's saying that, if this persists, we'll introduce amendments and we'll impose border blockades, barriers, and customs duties unilaterally," he said.

"The border problem will no longer be" on the agenda of Polish-Ukrainian consultations set for March 28, he said.
