Ukrainian State Border Guard Service posts border-crossing statistics

MOSCOW. March 5 (Interfax) - The number of departures from Ukraine grew to 220,000 on February 24 - March 1, compared to 218,000 in the previous week, while the number of arrivals increased from 197,000 to 206,000, Ukrainian media said, citing statistical data published by the State Border Guard Service on a social network.

The number of departures has been larger than the number of arrivals for two consecutive weeks, although the gap decreased from 21,000 to 14,000 over the week.

Following two weeks of decline, the number of cleared vehicles has grown from 101,000 t0 106,000 week-on-week, while the number of cleared humanitarian trucks has increased from 683 to 731.

According to an update from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, there were 6.48 million Ukrainian refugees worldwide, including 6.004 million in Europe, as of February 15, 2024, which is, respectively, 30,000 and 29,000 more than at the year beginning.

The UN estimated the number of internally displaced persons in Ukraine at 3.674 million as of November 6, compared to the earlier estimate of 5.088 million.
