Russia could offer Nigeria help with hydrocarbon exploration, offshore seismic surveying - Energy Ministry

ALGIERS. March 1 (Interfax) - Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov and Nigerian Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Ekperikpe Ekpo discussed fuel and energy cooperation on the sidelines of the 7th Gas Exporting Countries Forum summit.

The Russian Energy Ministry's press office said the two discussed the prospects for developing cooperation in the gas sector, in particular the creation of a network of gas filling stations. "They asked about mobile LNG filling stations," the Russian minister told reporters.

The parties are also interested in developing energy dialog in all areas, including geological work. "Russian companies are ready to offer their services for prospecting and exploring hydrocarbon deposits and offshore seismic surveying in Nigeria," Shulginov said.

The ministers also discussed considered interaction in the Gas Exporting Countries Forum format and exchanged views on cooperation within the OPEC+ framework.

Shulginov invited Nigerian officials to the Russian Energy Week, which takes place in Moscow from September 26-28 this year.
