Qazaq Air gets new CEO

ASTANA. March 1 (Interfax) - Kazakh airline Qazaq Air has a new CEO: Nurlan Zhakupov has been appointed acting head of the company in place of Yerkin Nauryzbayev, the airline's press service of said.

Nauryzbayev was CEO from September 9, 2022 to February 29, 2024. "He was the first Kazakh aviation specialist to head a domestic airline. Erkin Nauryzbayev has 19 years of experience in aviation, is the commander and instructor of the De-Havilland Dash 8-Q400 aircraft," the airline said.

Qazaq Air is an airline created to serve regional routes in Kazakhstan, 100% of its shares belong to the Samruk-Kazyna state fund. The air fleet consists of 5 De Havilland Dash-8-Q400NG aircraft, previously known as Bombardier DHC-8-Q400NG. In 2023, the airline carried more than 588,000 passengers.
