Govt permits forex sale to pay for Ukraine Air Enterprise non-scheduled transport services

MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has added non-scheduled air transport services and flight crew theoretical and practical training of state-owned Ukraine Air Enterprise to the list of critical services that can be imported.

The government's decree, dated February 23, 2024, has amended the February 24, 2022 decree on certain aspects of import operations, Ukrainian media said.

The inclusion of these services in the list of critical imports makes it possible to buy foreign currency to pay for them.

The government also permitted the transfer of fees for participation in the Securex 2024 exhibition in Poznan on April 23-25, 2024, the Milipol 2024 exhibition in Paris in November and the SHOT Show in Las Vegans in January 2025.

As reported, the government, in line with National Bank of Ukraine recommendations, maintains restrictions on services and operations the import of which may require buying foreign currency, abolishing the list of critical imports of goods in the summer of 2022.

Ukraine Air Enterprise is a Ukrainian air carrier established in 1997 to transport the country's top officials. The company is subordinate to the State Management of Affairs government agency and does not perform regular flights.

Ukraine's airspace has been closed to civil aircraft since the start of the crisis.
