LexisNexis, Interfax Sign Agreement on Alliance and Promotion in Russia of Unique Information Service

Interfax International Services Group and LexisNexis, a leading global provider of business information solutions, today announced they have established a strategic alliance for the joint promotion of the LexisNexis® and SCAN information system in Russia.

Solutions based on the LexisNexis platform and SCAN system will enable Russian companies, organizations and experts in various industries to promptly obtain information from Russian and foreign media sources.

The distribution agreement will enable simultaneous access to key sources of information in Russia and across the world. SCAN and LexisNexis users will be able to monitor global information by entering key words, such as company names, to carry out a search of any complexity or depth. In addition, these databases offer users the unique capability to conduct more complete and efficient analyses on an industry, company or person.

The alliance will also enable SCAN and LexisNexis customers to benefit from new LexisNexis proprietary sentiment analysis technology that allows users to derive insights on the volume and tonality of information.

"Within a single software solution, namely the SCAN electronic database, which is designed to analyze and monitor Russian mass media, our Russian clients will gain access to the global information archive of the LexisNexis services, which contains over 37,000 sources of information," says Mikhail Komissar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Interfax Group. "In the 1970s, LexisNexis created some of the world’s first full-text electronic document databases. Today, LexisNexis remains an indisputable leader, both as regards the standards of information solutions offered to major corporations worldwide and as regards the number and diversity of information sources. Aligning with LexisNexis opens up new prospects for our SCAN project, which was launched late last year."

Judy Vezmar, CEO LexisNexis Europe, Canada and Africa added: "We are very excited about our relationship with Interfax. This important step enables us to bring together the unique combination of market-leading archival LexisNexis news and company information as well as our proprietary sentiment analysis technology with Interfax’s best-in-class SCAN information system and in-depth knowledge of the Russian market. We are delighted to be working with Interfax to expand our geographic presence in Europe and together we look forward to bringing innovative information solutions to the Russian market."
