Mikhail Ketko appointed Regional Information Service general director

Interfax Information Service Group has announced Mikhail Ketko‘s appointment to the post of general director of the Regional Information Service.

Ketko will be the manager of Interfax‘s regional information agencies, responsible for expanding the correspondents network, and promoting Interfax products, services and sales across Russia.

"It is our priority task to expand Interfax‘s presence in the regions," said Interfax Deputy General Director Alexei Gorshkov. "Sales of Interfax products in the regions have trebled in recent years, the correspondent network has been growing ever stronger and new press centers are being set up. I am sure Mikhail Ketko will give fresh impetus to the Regional Information Service‘s development," he said.

Ketko was born in Crimea on June 28, 1975. He graduated from the Urals State Economics University with honors in 1996. He served in the armed forces between 1996 and 2001.

Ketko joined Interfax in 2002 and worked as a staff correspondent in the Sverdlovsk region for his first two years with the company. He was editor-in-chief of the Interfax-Urals information agency in 2004-07 and executive editor of the same information agency starting 2008.

In February 2010 he was put in charge of the Sverdlovsk Region Governor‘s Information Policy Department.

Ketko re-joined Interfax in August 2010 as deputy general director of the Regional Information Service responsible for Interfax‘s regional subsidiaries Interfax-Urals, Interfax-Siberia and Interfax-Far East.
