The Interfax Information Services Group announces the creation of a new division, Interfax Global Services, which will publish, market and sell information in foreign languages worldwide.
The director of Interfax Global Services is Michal Broniatowski, who headed Reuters in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) for four years and is one of the leading organizers of news reporting from Russia for the entire world.
The editor-in-chief of Interfax Global Services is Torrey Clark, who was deputy business editor of The Moscow Times, a Moscow-based English-language daily. She previously worked at Ernst & Young in the corporate finance services department.
"The operations of the Interfax Group in many countries have taken on such a scale that a need has emerged for clearer coordination among all its journalistic and marketing divisions to enable our corporation to maintain its intensive pace of development in the international market," said Mikhail Komissar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Interfax Group.
"Interfax plans to introduce a series of essentially new information products and unique services based on state-of-the-art information technology, introduce new sales techniques, and raise the standards of information products in foreign languages."

Since the early 1990s, the Interfax Group has been the main source of up-to-the-minute information on Russia and the CIS for the international community. As a source of reference on Russian events, the Group has been cited by world media with unmatched frequency.
Set up in 1989, the Interfax Group brings together more than 20 companies and a network of national, regional, and specialized news agencies under the "Interfax" name and operate throughout Russia and other CIS countries, in China, and in Central and Eastern Europe.
The Group also includes divisions that provide analytical services, develop software solutions and partner with major international information organizations.
