Interfax-Urals News Agency Opens Bureau and Press Center in Chelyabinsk

The Interfax-Urals news agency, which is part of the Interfax Information Services international group, has announced the opening of a bureau and press center in the city of Chelyabinsk.

"Chelyabinsk region is a key industrial area with a high investment potential and serious sources of business information," said Interfax-Urals General Director Mikhail Feigin. "For this reason, we see the opening of the bureau and press center in Chelyabinsk as a necessary phase in the development of our agency.
"We have entered the final phase of a program to build a large-scale information network in the Ural Federal District, a program that was launched in 2002 and guarantees comprehensive economic and political information for the business community."
The Chelyabinsk press center is the third one in the Ural Federal District to use the Interfax name. Earlier, Interfax opened press centers in Yekaterinburg and Tyumen.
Interfax-Urals, set up in 2002, specializes in covering events in the Urals Federal District. It runs its own newswire, which reports local and federal news for mass media, governmental bodies, companies and banks.
Interfax-Urals development projects are part of an Interfax program to rapidly extend into the provinces, where the Interfax-Center, Interfax-Northwest, Interfax-Volga, Interfax-South, and Interfax-Siberia agencies are operating intensively and where Interfax is carrying out a series of specialized projects.
