Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych and parliamentary speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn last week received Interfax Chairman and CEO Mikhail Komissar, who informed them of Interfax‘s plans in their country.
"The Interfax-Ukraine news agency is a leading Ukrainian media outlet, which informs the international community of events in this country. Objectivity, impartiality, and trustworthiness are the characteristic features of the agency, whose activity promotes Ukraine‘s integration into the world community," Mr. Yanukovych said at the meeting with Mr. Komissar.
"What is important is that Interfax-Ukraine specializes not only in political information but also reports high-quality business news," the Ukrainian prime minister said. "Kyiv is extremely interested in explaining to foreign investors what opportunities they have when cooperating with Ukraine," he said.
Mr. Komissar said in response, "We have always viewed the Ukrainian market as one of the most promising ones in the former Soviet Union. Founding the Interfax-Ukraine news agency over ten years ago, we set among its key purposes informing foreign investors about the opportunities offered by the Ukrainian economy.
