Mikhail Schubakoff appointed Interfax Global Services‘ managing director

The Interfax Information Services Group, pursuing the strategy of building a new global marketing and sales service, has set up the post of managing director of Interfax Global Services and appointed Mikhail Schubakoff to this post.

Schubakoff had headed Reuters‘s major European and central divisions since the early 1990s.

Interfax Global Services was set up as a division of the Interfax Information Services Group in 2003 and engages in publishing, marketing and selling information in foreign languages worldwide..

Mikhail Schubakoff was born in Helsinki on August 26, 1954.
He graduated from Helsinki‘s Swedish Business School in 1979.
In February 1982, Schubakoff began working for Reuters, where he headed divisions responsible for business and marketing in a number of Western European countries. From June 1991, he was the business manager for Finland and the Baltic states.
In August 1992, Schubakoff occupied the post of chief of Reuters‘s office for Russia and the CIS and managed its business in this region. As the head of Reuters‘s office and later the top manager of the Russian joint-stock company AO Reuters, he was responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing, financing, administration, and client support.
In February 1997, Schubakoff became one of Reuters‘s business managers for Germany, and in February 1999, he became head of a business group for managing the global information service at Reuters‘s headquarters in London, where he was responsible for informational services provided to international financial markets.
