Mikhail Schubakoff was born in Helsinki on August 26, 1954.
He graduated from Helsinki‘s Swedish Business School in 1979.
In February 1982, Schubakoff began working for Reuters, where he headed divisions responsible for business and marketing in a number of Western European countries. From June 1991, he was the business manager for Finland and the Baltic states.
In August 1992, Schubakoff occupied the post of chief of Reuters‘s office for Russia and the CIS and managed its business in this region.
