Checkpoint blocked on Ukrainian-Slovak border
MOSCOW. Nov 21 (Interfax) - Carriers are blocking truck traffic through the Vysne Nemecke checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Slovak border on the side of Slovakia, Ukrainian media said with the reference to a statement by the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service published on a social network on Tuesday.
"According to the information from the Border Police of the Slovak Republic, traffic of the trucks headed to the Slovak checkpoint Vysne Nemecke, adjacent to the Ukrainian checkpoint Uzhgorod, has been blocked since 1:30 p.m. today," the statement said.
According to the statement, the Slovak Union of Motor Carriers has initiated and is carrying out the blockade.
The campaign duration has not been reported.
About 300 trucks headed to Ukraine are standing near the Vysne Nemecke checkpoint in the Slovak territory.
According to the State Border Guard Service, cars and buses are cleared as usual.
