Elections of regional heads to be held in 19 Russian constituent territories over three days - Russian CEC chairperson

MOSCOW. July 5 (Interfax) - The elections for heads of 21 Russian constituent territories, which will be held in September 2023, will take place over three days in 19 of them, Russian Central Elections Commission (CEC) Chairperson Ella Pamfilova said.

"As for the duration of the voting, regarding the elections of top officials, 19 constituent territories have selected a three-day voting format, the Omsk region [has selected a] two[-day format], and the Tyumen region has selected a one[-day format]," Pamfilova said at a meeting of the CEC on Wednesday.

Election campaigns at various levels, including elections for the heads of 21 constituent territories and elections for members of legislative (representative) state bodies will be held in Russia on the unified voting day, on September 10, 2023. More than 4,000 election campaigns will take place in 85 Russian constituent territories. Some 34,000 mandates and elected positions will be filled. Sixty five million voters are eligible to take part in the voting.
