European Commission, Ukraine sign agreement on program of transport, energy, digital technologies projects

BRUSSELS. June 6 (Interfax) - The European Commission and Ukraine signed an agreement making the latter a member of the European Union's Connecting Europe Facility program in Lvov on Tuesday, the European Commission's press service said.

"This agreement will enable Ukrainian project promoters to apply for EU funding for projects of common interest in the transport, energy and digital realms, further improving Ukraine's connectivity with its EU neighbors," the European Commission's press service said in a statement released in Brussels.

The agreement will facilitate "Ukraine's integration within the EU single market, promote growth, jobs and competitiveness," the statement said.

The Connecting Europe Facility program provides assistance in achieving the goals of the European Green Deal and the Digital Decade 2030, which aim to promote "greener and more sustainable trans-European transport and energy networks as well as digitalization," the European Commission said.
