Agricultural trade turnover between Russia, Kazakhstan up 22% in 2022 - Russian Agriculture Ministry

MOSCOW. May 31 (Interfax) - The agricultural trade turnover between Russia and Kazakhstan went up 22% in 2022, the Russian Agriculture Ministry said after talks between Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev and Kazakh Agriculture Minister Yerbol Karashukeyev.

According to the press release, Patrushev said interaction between the two countries' agriculture agencies is intensive. Russia and Kazakhstan are in constant constructive dialogue both at the level of bilateral contacts and within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

"Kazakhstan ranks first among the EAEU countries in imports of domestic agricultural products. Last year, the volume of mutual trade in food went up 22%. The republic became one of the world's largest importers of Russian grain," the press release said.

This year, the positive dynamics of mutual trade persist. The trade turnover increased by almost 17% in the first three months of this year.
