MOSCOW. May 29 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has submitted a draft resolution to the Verkhovna Rada to endorse the imposition of special sectoral economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) on Iran for a period of 50 years, Ukraine media reported with reference to the parliament's website.

"In line with Article 93 of the Ukrainian constitution and Part 2 of Article 5 of the Ukrainian law On Sanctions, I am submitting a draft resolution to the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada to endorse the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council's decision of May 27, 2023 on applying special sectoral economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) to the Islamic Republic of Iran," the document says.

The draft proposes that said sanctions on Iran be in effect for 50 years. The measures include a complete ban on trade with Iran, transit of resources, flights, and transportation operations.

They also include a ban on the transfer of technology and intellectual property rights to residents of Iran and a ban on investments in the country.
