Days of Russian Cinema to take place in China in July, Aug - culture minister

MOSCOW. May 23 (Interfax) - The Days of Russian Cinema will be held in China's Beijing, Suzhou and Heihe in August, Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova said.

"The Days of Russian Cinema will take place in China in the online format (on July 10-31), offline in Beijing, Suzhou and Heihe in August," Lyubimova said on Telegram.

She also said that as part of promoting cooperation between the two countries, Chinese performers are expected to take part in the 16th International Chekhov Theater Festival. Additionally, the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra conducted by maestro Valery Gergiev will perform at the Great Wall of China on June 2-3.

The minister noted that Russia and China are continuing to expand their cultural cooperation. Last year, Chinese representatives took part in the International Ballet Competition and the Rachmaninoff International Competition for Pianists, Composers and Conductors.
