Ukrhydroenergo, Italy's Webuild sign memorandum of cooperation in construction of HPPs

MOSCOW. May 19 (Interfax) - Ukrhydroenergo PJSC and Italy's Webuild have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the construction of hydropower plants (HPP) for the next three years.

"The signing of the memorandum of cooperation in the construction hydropower plants between the Webuild company and Ukrhydroenergo took place in Rome during the recent conference on Ukraine's restoration," Ukrainian media outlets said on Friday, citing the company's statement.

The document expressed the interest of the parties in cooperation in building the new capacities in the next three years, Ukrhydroenergo said.

"Cooperation envisages facilitating the introduction of modern energy efficient and carbon-free technologies during the restoration of Ukraine and support to the development of hydropower in Ukraine," the company said.

As reported, the company set the completion of the construction of the Dniester Pumped Storage Power Station and the construction of the Kaneva Pumped Storage Power Station among the priority objectives.

Ukrhydroenergo is operating all major hydropower plants located on the Ukrainian sections of the Dnieper and Dniester rivers. The total installed electricity production capacity of the company's HPPs is 6,208.3 MW.
