China expects Russia to expand preferential regimes to whole Far East

KHABAROVSK. May 19 (Interfax) - China expects the Russian government to expand preferential regimes to the whole Far East and the new international priority development area regime to go into effect, the trade and economic advisor at the Chinese consulate in Khabarovsk, Zhang Hecheng said at a meeting with representatives of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) on Friday.

"Zhang Hecheng indicated that China is prepared to participate in financing interesting projects of current residents," the FEDC said in a press release.

China's Consulate-General is conducting an analysis of the investment policy of the Far East, including the terms of preferential regimes - priority development areas (PDA) and the Free Port of Vladivostok - in the regions, the FEDC said.

The parties agreed to meet regularly to share information about investment projects and preferential regimes.

Some 119 residents of preferential regimes in Khabarovsk Territory are currently carrying out projects under agreements with the FEDC, with more than 400 billion rubles being invested.
